THE INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES

How does one interpret Tongues? This is the question that I hear most often about Speaking in Tongues. 

Tongues, for our purposes here has its first mention in the book of Mark, reading: 

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (Mark 16:17) 

If you are a believer, you should be speaking in Tongues. 

The second mention of Tongues is in the Book of Acts, Chapter 2. 

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 

 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:1-4) 

Speaking in Other Tongues is introduced to the 120 visitors to that Upper Room meeting that day. Those gathered there were from different areas and spoke different languages (tongues). They heard their languages as being spoken by those who did not know their language (vs 5-11). 

And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? (Vs 12) 

 Peter said to them: 

 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 

 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 

And on my servants and on my handmaidens, I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: (Acts 2:16-18) 

The essence of the pouring out of the Spirit of God is Tongues. He pours it out incessantly (Acts 2:33). Visions, Dreams, Anointing, Light, Revelation, Faith, Prophecy, Power, Healing, Deliverance, Wisdom, Shalom and much more are the by-production of this “Living Water” (John 7:38). 

God works by His Word (John 1:1-4). The purest form of His Word is Tongues or as He is commonly called, Unknown Tongues. 

The primary use of Tongues equates to Him proclaiming those things which He decrees through His Mouthpiece; His Body, the Church even the Church Members (The Saints). 

These transactions are meant to be done in private. Even when “Speaking in Tongues” happens in the church building during the Assembly it should occur in ones “own space”. 

Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. (1 Corinthians 14:19) 

The Bible tells us that when “Speaking in Tongues in the “open” Assembly there is to be the “Interpretation of Tongues”. 

The Bible says this: 

If any man speaks in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 

But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. (1Corinthians 14:27-28) 

Tongues (divers kinds of Tongues with the word divers being added by the translator) with Interpretation of Tongues is equal to Prophecy. These Spoken Manifestations are given for the edification (building up), exhortation (encouraging) and comfort of the Local Assembly.   

One simple thing to remember is that when Tongues or Divers Kinds of Tongues with the Interpretation of Tongues happens GOD IS ALWAYS IN THE ROOM. 

God is in the room giving the Utterance when meditational Prayer in the Spirit or when Ministerial Tongues with Interpretation happens. 

HE IS GIVING THE UTTERANCE. We, His Body are a co-laborer. His Spirit works through our spirit with the natural tongue being the mechanical part or necessary apparatus for the execution. HE GIVES THE INTERPRETATION. 

We do well to keep our minds (souls) out of this Spiritual/spiritual transaction.

THE HAND

Last night I decided to meditate on Bible Scripture from memory while I fell asleep rather than listening to Bible teaching on the CD player as I most often do. 

I cannot say enough about having The Word hidden in the heart to be summoned in a time of need! 

I first recalled Ephesians 6:10 with the intent of reciting silently through verse 20. The devil hates it when I do that and throws out many distractions. 

I then found myself reflecting on Philippians 2:13 which reads “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” 

Let that soak in. 

After that I at once saw a vision of the similitude of a man’s face. In an instant I now saw the Left Hand of God. He said these things about His Hand: “with this Hand I created, and I sustain the universe, This Hand is your place of protection, it is your help in time of need, your destiny is directed by It, you are chastened by This Hand, and no man can pluck you from This Hand.” 

I equate The Left Hand of God to be the Holy Spirit. 

The vision was vivid, and He made motions during it such as closing The Hand gently to show protection and opening it wide to express creation. 

I felt great peace upon arising this morning.

RAISING THE DEAD

In this dream I saw a young lady athlete that was involved in a traumatic incident that involved young men. The lady was an exceptional athlete with many accolades.

It appeared that due to her run in with the bad guys she became deceased. She was left in a place and hidden.

A person who is known to me found her and carried her on his shoulder looking for help.

I was walking in a market area and met him as he desperately sought help.

I recognized the young lady and knew the urgency of the situation, so I asked the gentleman to place the lady on the ground.

I approached her and began to explain to her that I was going to give her some instructions and that then I would call her back.

The moment I began to speak, however, she gasped for and breathed in a deep breath. She had been resuscitated.

We will see occasions in these last days where the Lord will raised people from untimely deaths. Saints full of the Spirit of Jesus due to all-the-time praying in the Spirit will carry His Anointing sufficient to raise the dead.

8 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together. 

9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. 

10 And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him. (Acts 20:8-10)

THE FRAGRANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

I have noticed lately that there is a fair amount of discussion about a fragrance, a very pleasant fragrance, being experienced by folks usually of the Christian variety. The stories range from false alarm accounts where what the person was smelling a timed released deodorizer in the bathroom to apparent bona fide occasions after intense worship, prayer, fasting or otherwise seeking the Face of the Lord had taken place. 

A few months ago, I met with a friend to share with him some things that the Lord had shown me about ten years ago having to do with God’s purpose for him. The dynamics of the meeting were powerful as it was led by the Holy Spirit. The interesting thing is that I kept sensing this fragrance. I hesitate to use the word “smell” as I do not feel that applying a natural sensory perception does this supernatural manifestation justice. 

The Fragrance was strong, and I did not know at the time what (Who) it was I thought that it was the deodorant that I had recently began to use. I had not had a deodorant before that carried such a strong scent and did not want to walk around smelling like that. 

I added deodorant to my Costco shopping list, and I thought that that would be that. But “that wasn’t that” and I still experienced the Fragrance. Then as now, about two or three times a day He reminds me of His presence with a gentle spray of a sweet and for me unidentifiable and undeniable scent. It is as if I am surrounded with It as It falls upon me afresh. I know it is His way of reminding me of His promise of when he said “I will never leave you or forsake you.” 

I wish that I could say to you that the Fragrance of the Holy Spirit is like this or like that, but I just do not have a frame of reference that I can point to. I am comfortable saying that if you know yourself to be called of The Most High and are earnestly willing and obedient, it may be that His Enabling Power has come close to you and is even as “The Spirit Upon” for Kingdom Service (such as The Spiritual Gifts) whenever and wherever needed. 

The following scriptural passage should help: 

And the Lord said unto Moses, take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight:
And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure, and holy:
And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy. (Exodus 30:34-36)

Last week about this time I was right in the middle of a Healing and Deliverance class in Durban, South Africa. Instruction was being given regarding casting out devils and commanding bodies to be healed and made whole in the name of Jesus Christ.
Healing and Deliverance Ministry should be available in every Christian Church inclusive of the work being done outside of the local Assembly.

BLUE HANDS ARE ANOINTED

Last Sunday (May 12, 2019) I was visiting a Church for the second time. After some pretty Spirit filled testimonies from a few of the members, the Pastor preached a good Sermon. His message text was Luke, chapter 7 verses 11-15 (The Raising of the Widows Son at Nain).

 

After completing the Message Pastor called forward a few people and spoke into their lives (prophesied over them). Lastly, he prophesied over me.

 

He said that there is a Great Healing Anointing on my Life. He said that under my Ministry blind eyes will be opened, the deaf will hear, and the cripple will walk by the Power of God.

 

He anointed my hands with oil. After which, he professed to the congregants that there is a healing anointing on my life, that there is healing in my hands. He suggested to them that should any of them desire healing they should come forward.

 

I was only at Church for Sunday service and now look at what God was doing!

 

He singled out one of the Church leaders to come forward first so that we could pray specifically for her about a matter that he had discerned. We did so and there was no visible evidence of any healing for the lady. I do fully expect to hear her testimony of healing on Sunday. God does the work on His timetable.

 

Meanwhile, about 15-20 more people came forward including two visiting Pastors for me to pray for them. I prayed for and blessed these folks mostly either by holding their right hand or placing my hands on their head. I know that when ministering healings, they are likely to come at once at the hands of Jesus (The Holy Spirit) or shortly thereafter because of agreement and prayer of two or more saints.

 

I can recall only one single time in the Bible where someone went away from the Lord or Apostles not having been healed. Not being healed by the Apostles, this person was later healed by the Lord (Matthew 17:16-18).

 

There were two notable immediate manifestations of the people that I prayed for though. One lady had a vision. She says that while she was standing right in front of me; she didn’t see me but instead saw a person dressed in all white. She says that she did not see the persons face. She says that the person told her that she will come away from an upcoming medical procedure completely healed.

 

There was another lady whom I believe was second in line that apparently received mightily of God as I prayed for her holding her by her right hand. She fell to the floor because of the power of God and laid there for perhaps 15 minutes just praying in Tongues.

 

I expect to see full manifestation of the expected healing ministry that the Lord has put into my heart by way of a dream!

KNOCK, KNOCK – JUST A QUIET SATURDAY MORNING

Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar.
Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and behold, there ran out waters on the right side.
And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.
Again, he measured a thousand and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again, he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.
Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over. (Ezekiel 47:1-5). 

And it shall happen afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. (Joel 2:28-29). 

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, if any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
(But this spoke he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:37-39). 

 

During the first week of February 2019, I had a dream in which it seemed like a quiet Saturday morning. I and a couple of my family members were just talking, getting coffee, and working on breakfast – you know, Saturday morning stuff. 

Our house was built on an incline or down-sloping hill. As I looked out of a side window, I saw water rushing down the side of the house. A great rain event had occurred. The level of the water was high and was a cause for concern. 

Just as I was communicating my concern to my family, there was a knock on the front door. I had some concern as there was already water coming into the house between the threshold and door. I nonetheless opened the door to let the person at the door in after discovering that It was someone that we knew. 

I opened the door and pulled the person in fast and closed the door. By then the water was a foot or more deep inside the house. The dream was over. 

The above scriptural passages came to mind. The onslaught of Water near and in my house is none other than the Holy Spirit. 

Further, increasingly I am coming to understand that a “house” in a dream oftentimes is referring to one’s body, a spiritual house as it were. 

Noteworthy, too is the fact that many theologians agree that the end time is at hand. Is eminent. The outpouring of the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) is to be expected right about now. Signs and wonders are become manifest.

5 Things to do When You Have a Dream

  1. Recall the dream. Run the details of the dream through your head. If you don’t, there is a good chance that the dream will fly away.
  2. Pray to the Lord for clarification (interpretation) regarding the dream. Ask Him to give you Light and Revelation as to what He is trying to convey to you.
  3. Write the dream down. Writing the dream down will help you to receive Light and Revelation regarding the dream as well.
  4. Tell the Dream to a believing friend. The Wisdom imparted to your friend by the Lord will most certainly assist you in the interpretation of you dream.
  5.  Revisit your dreams after a few days and after a few weeks, after a few months and after a year or two or ten or fifteen or forty. You will be amazed!

On 11/27/2018 I had a three-part dream. I dreamt that there was a visitor at our house. He was initially received as an ordinary guest. 

Soon thereafter, I noticed him observing a female child with great interest as she took a shower. I admonished him for doing so and requested that he move on, and so he did. This was part one of the dream. 

In part two of the dream, I observed our guest again watching intently as the young girl took a shower. This time I advise the visitor that he was to leave the premises immediately and never to return. 

In part three of the dream, I observed two men from my vantage point on a second level balcony arriving in a pickup truck down below. They had come to retrieve a bucket that I had prepared for them. I must tell you that preparation of the bucket required some welding. 

As I grabbed the bucket that was full of water from the counter and proceeded to carry it out to them, I noticed that there was water leaking from it through a hole that was about the size of a quarter. 

I was disturbed that the bucket was leaking and knew that I could not deliver it to the men in that condition. As I pondered the situation, the dream was over. 

While it is reasonable to assume that this dream has some application pertaining to my own life, let me tell you what I believe the Holy Spirit would have me share with you regarding it. 

The young girl is the Church. The visitor is the devil. Looks like I am standing in as a leader in the Church and have done a poor job of teaching the laity regarding the Holy Spirit. Instead of Him (The Holy Spirit) overflowing the bucket, His Power is being diminished by the breech in the bottom of the bucket. 

This phenomenon of the enemy creeping in unawares is widespread and residual damage could remain after he has been dealt with. Continuous vigilance is imperative.

BATTLE STATIONS!

From time to time I get a notification from the Holy Spirit that I need to pray. He notifies me in a variety of ways. Sometimes in the context of a dream He mentions a specific name or names. I know that my task is to call out those names in prayer before the Father.

At other times He shows me situations or events in which He wishes to intervene and needs authorization from a saint or perhaps even a non-saint to do so. This is because the Lord needs the authorization from those to whom dominion on the earth was given – mankind.

Last night’s notification or call to arms came to me in a way in which the Lord has used before. It was the sound of the doorbell ringing. Like Samuel, when he received his first communication from the Lord, I didn’t understand initially what meant this symbolic request to pray was. I did eventually catch on.

Last night’s Battle Station alarm, I am reasonably sure, had to do either directly or indirectly with the fact that Hurricane Florence was making landfall on the North Carolina coast. The Lord desired to get involved in one way or the other.

The truth of the matter is that I don’t know what the Lord was handling. That being the case, then how did I know what to pray for. I didn’t but the Spirit did.

Speaking in Tongues as the Spirit gives the Utterance is the answer.

Sheep and Lambs

This dream starts with me being in a city’s downtown area. It was raining and there were portable shelters available. They were like umbrellas. I was able to move one to an area that I chose to stand. I was waiting for public transportation.

While I waited, I noticed that there were Christmas decorations present there in the city, so I took some pictures of them with my mobile phone to send to a friend who lives in California. It was then that I noticed that my phone was broken. Half of it was missing and the face of it was gone exposing the inner workings.

Fast forward. I am now in a country setting. Feels like Colorado. I approached this farm/ranch house to see if I could use the phone.

As I approached the house and was walking up the long walkway the sons of the owner came up behind me and one of them picked pocked, my wallet. He was not a particularly good pick-pocketer though because I realized right away what had happened and was able to wrestle my wallet away from him.

I continued and entered the home where I met the owner/father and after telling him that one of his sons had just lifted my wallet. His reprimand to his son was quite mild. I explained to him that I needed to use his phone.

Now I am again at the front of the property where there are two groups of sheep. They were in two distinct stages of development. One group was to be delivered inside of (onto) the property and the other was to be taken away by me.

There appeared now a third party who was to take the in-going sheep into the premises. The outgoing sheep were to be transferred to the vessel in which the in-going sheep were once they were taken out. I asked the Third-Party Person to be sure that the vessel had plenty of water when He brought it back to be provided to the sheep that would be taken away.

Interpretation (partial):

The Rain is the presence of the Holy Spirit. The shelters/umbrellas are spiritual covering. I am transitioning from one Spiritual covering to another. The mention of public transportation speaks to the sometimes fluidity of life in the Spirit.

The lambs and sheep are the people all saved but at various levels of spiritual development.

I expect more revelation relating to this dream and will bring it to you when it is received. It might do some of you a world of good to know why the Lord started this dialogue with me in the first place. I may be shedding some light on that as well.

That’s Not Enough Money!

Last night I dreamt that I was approached by a gentleman who wanted to rent a truck. I used to work in the rental car/truck industry many years ago. As we discussed the matter, I could see that all the money that the man had was a fist full of coins. 

I suggested to him that he would need more money than that and enquired as to where his other money was. It was clear that he had no other money. 

I asked him where he was going with the truck, and he said New Jersey. New Jersey! New Jersey is several hundred miles from where we were. This person was confident that the rental would take place. There was just no doubt in his mind. The dream was over. 

Earlier in the day yesterday, I made a note to myself due to some light or revelation that I received during my early morning study time/meditation. I wrote this down: “Speak to the Mountain.” I knew that it was inspiration from God so I carefully took the note and secured that it would make its way to my desk for safe cataloging. 

Mark 11: 22-23 reads as thus: And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 

For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things which he saith shall happen; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 

Also consider Matthew 6:25-34. 

Interpreting the dream, for me, is simple. It is a very gentle and sweet admonition to me from the Holy Spirit to move forward, nothing wavering, toward that which He has called me. 

The nice man requesting the truck was operating in faith.

WHO WAS THAT MASKED MAN

Often in my dreams there appears this Mystery Person. I once saw Him assisting a person who was having some difficulty in a rapidly flowing river. He has appeared as a policeman assisting and aiding against doers of evil. He appeared in the dream in which the Lord called me to ministry. He was The Coach.

You are likely to see Him as a Teacher, Helper, Lawyer, A Friend and always as Someone who operates from the background. He does not bring attention to Himself other than to be an Advocate and Protector.

He comes to assist in a time of trouble and at other times as needed and then fades into the background until such a time as when He is needed again. He is an Ever-Present Helper.

While He is the Third Part of the Godhead, He is somewhat like the Lone Ranger.

MOST SWIMMINGLY

This morning I dreamt a dream that was a split screen dream. In one screen (stage left) I was in a coffee shop like setting with several other men and we were discussing how the recent river change was affecting their current living quarters. They all lived in a multi-level apartment building that stands by the river. The river had risen and some of them needed units that were on higher floors. My home was not in the building and so my concern was nil. 

The discussion then moved on to putting in our orders for something to eat later. One of the fellows was going for the takeout order. The day-of-the-week setting must have been Friday because I ordered fish and chips. 

In the “stage-right” scene, I found myself walking in a dry riverbed in the direction from which the water would normally flow. To my surprise water started coming down the river. Initially, I was able to sidestep the water and stay out of its way. Increasingly, though, the flow of the water became greater and greater. It was like the dam broke or a great rain had taken place up stream. 

Meanwhile (stage left) I was having a change of mind about the fish and chips. I had remembered that I already had fish at home. I was trying to get my order cancelled. 

I woke up and knew immediately what the dream meant; mostly, I think. 

Now folks, many of you know how that the Lord says that in the last days He would pour out His Spirit on all flesh and you know about how he says that rivers of living waters shall flow from them that believe on him. I propose to you today that the increased flow of the waters in the river in this dream represents a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit of God. 

Just as a note, the river is another way of saying the Holy Spirit, fish could be representative of in this case unsaved folks. I am sure that some other symbols are included here. 

The advent is at hand. We are walking on the dry riverbed, but the water is coming.

Once, Twice, Three times

3/12/2015 I had a vision of three one-page works set side by side. I reviewed these.  

Dreamt I was visiting a couple of guys, the setting of which was in a Hispanic locale. One of the Guys was like was an Athletic professional (Champion) and the other person was an Assistant (try to remember that in dreams a discreet, un-named yet busy and prevalent person is the Holy Spirit).  

The location was a store front. We were preparing to go to attend an event in which the champion would participate. While waiting I walked out of the building and around to the other side of it where there was another business that was being run by two brothers.  

They were out at the time, but I noticed samples of their work in the front of their office. It was masonry work, tile, or the like. There were three examples.  

After this I went back to where my Friends were as we were leaving to go to the event. There were other people in the street and after getting distracted I lost sight of my Friends and stood still for a while and tried to locate Them. After a short while I spotted the Athlete looking over at me and raising His hand to give me direction. I joined them and we proceeded in the direction of the event. 

So let me give you a little background and an important bible scripture and you can help me watch and see this dream come to fruition: I am currently working on three projects, two websites and one book (hence three two times in the dream). The Champion is Jesus Christ, and the Helper is, well I just previously told you who He is. My losing sight of them and their motioning to me is encouragement, assurance, and direction toward success in these endeavors. So, see the bible verses below: 

And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days: Gen 40:12 

 And Joseph answered and said, this is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days: Gen 40:18 

And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass. Gen 41:32
